CHALLENGE

A large, global pharmaceutical company required a CMK Select Project Manager to lead a key initiative for their global vaccine program. The team faced multiple operational barriers across 10+ countries and 5 continents, including time zone differences, language barriers, lack of cohesive governance, ineffective communication practices, unreadable lab reports in multiple languages, inconsistent lab report systems, and no standardized reporting structure. These challenges prevented the global team of over 200 cross-functional stakeholders from functioning efficiently and threatened the timely launch of the vaccine.

SOLUTION

The CMK Select project manager established a cross-functional task force and conducted a Voice of the Customer campaign involving 100+ stakeholders to capture key pain points. After analyzing the results, six priority initiatives were developed and implemented within months. The project manager created a comprehensive operations plan, including a structured communications approach, and collaborated with Human Resources to implement a change management plan, all of which received approval from the Leadership Team. These efforts standardized processes, improved communication, and strengthened governance across regions.
